Booking train tickets in Malaysia is very easy using Busonlineticket with a very straightforward booking system and no need to create an account as you need to do if booking online directly with the KTMB website.
There is just a small added administration fee that you have to pay on top of the counter price of the train ticket.
This is also the case when booking directly with KTMB.
You can book Malaysian train tickets now up to 60 days in advance of your travel dates.
Tickets that are available online include :
All high-speed ETS (Electric Train Services) that currently operate between Gemas in the south, to Padang Besar in the north on the Malaysia / Thailand border.
Shuttle Trains between JB Sentral in Johor Bahru to Gemas / Tampin.
Shuttle Trains between JB Sentral and Woodlands Railway Station in Singapore.
Intercity Trains on the Jungle Railway Line between JB Sentral / Gemas and Tumpat in the north-east of Malaysia.
There are plenty of other trains in Malaysia that are great for travelling short distances.
These Komuter (commuter) Trains operate to many destinations many times a day on the new upgraded dual tracks between Gemas and Padang Besar and on branch lines around the capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Unlike the ETS, Shuttle and Intercity Trains, you can't book tickets for Komuter Trains online.
All you need to do is turn up at the station, buy a ticket and catch the next train.
