The KTM Slim River Railway Station (Stesen Keretapi Slim River) is located in the state of Perak, Malaysia along the KTMB North - South Line.
Slim River Station has many daily services by the fast Electric Train Service (ETS) that stops here on the Ipoh - KL Sentral Kuala Lumpur route, but just a few on the more long distance routes to Gemas, Butterworth or Padang Besar.
The older ETS route between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur has regular trains throughout the day and evening and is a good way to travel from Slim River to places in Perak, Selangor or the capital.
You can use these service to travel quickly from Slim River to :
To the north.
To the south.
Kuala Kubu Bharu
Kuala Lumpur's old station
Trains on the Ipoh - KL Sentral Route are either ETS Gold Services with limited stops or the slightly cheaper ETS Silver Services which stop at all stations along this route.
If you wish to travel longer distances from Slim River northbound to places like Butterworth Penang, Alor Setar or Arau (for boats to Langkawi) or the Thai border station of Padang Besar, there are just a couple of long distance ETS Trains a day stopping here.
For more choice of services, its best to go to either Batu Gajah or Ipoh first, then change trains there.
If you want to travel further south than KL, there is only one direct train from Slim River station to Gemas, so you might want to go to Tanjung Malim first, where all trains stop.
To get to JB Sentral or Singapore from Slim River, you will have to take an ETS Train as far as Gemas, then transfer to Shuttle Trains to JB, then another from JB to Singapore.
