How to book Bangkok Train Tickets online either directly from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) or using an online ticketing agent - Book Seats, Sleeping Berths to all destinations in Thailand such as : Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Surat Thani, Chumphon, Hua Hin, Khorat, Nong Khai....
Now that the SRT online booking system is up and running, it is now easier than
ever to book your train tickets to and from Bangkok online, saving you
the hassle and expensive of having to travel out to the station days or even weeks before to book your seats or sleeping berths.
The Thai Railways booking site offers the cheapest way to buy tickets online, with most of the long distance services available to purchase 60 days in advance.
There is just a small extra booking fee (depending on the class of travel) to add to the normal counter price of the tickets.
SRT only sell train tickets, so if you want to book connecting buses and ferries, or train and ferry / bus combo tickets, you may want to check out one of the ticketing agents below.
A good, but more expensive alternative is to use an online ticket agent.
12Go are a very popular agent who sell both train, bus, ferry and flights around most of the South East Asia region.
They also sell train and bus combo tickets for trips from Bangkok to Phuket / Krabi (for example).
Also, if you want to make a booking more than 60 days, 12Go will take you booking and make sure you get your seats / berths as soon as the tickets go on sale from SRT.
Another, newer train ticket agent is BusOnlineTicket who have also started to sell train, bus and ferry tickets in Thailand.
Again, they are more expensive than booking direct with SRT, but offer bus and ferry tickets to connect to the trains (although you will have to book these tickets separately as they currently do not offer combo tickets).
