All ETS services between Kuala Lumpur Sentral Railway Station and Penang Butterworth Railway Station, stop at Bukit Mertajam (BM) around ten minutes before getting to Butterworth.

The ETS train from Kuala Lumpur to Bukit Mertajam stops at a number of stations along the route, with the Platinum services offering the least number of stops and the quickest journey time.
Please Note: from the 19th May 2016 there are no longer any diesel Intercity Express Trains on this route as they have now all been cancelled.

Adult Fare - 58 MYR - Child Fare - 33 MYR
ETS Platinum Service:
Adult Fare - 77 MYR - Child Fare - 43 MYR
Travelling on this route, it is advisable to make an advance booking for seats, as if you wait until the last minute and try to buy a ticket on the day of departure, you may find the trains full.
This is especially true during, weekends, public and religious holidays and school holidays as many people head off to Penang for the weekend / holidays.
Train tickets in Malaysia usually go on sale 60 days in advance, but recently KTM seem to release tickets for sale between two weeks and two / three months in advance.
Advance tickets can be booked from any KTMB ticketing counter, at any mainline station.
