If you want to travel from KL to Penang Island (Pulau Pinang) from the Old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station (Terminal KTM) all trains heading to Butterworth Penang Sentral will stop off here on their journey north.
Trains depart from the old Moorish Kuala Lumpur Station just a few minutes after leaving from KL Sentral for Butterworth.

This ETS route is one of the most popular train services in Malaysia and some trains can be full every weekend, during holidays and festival days so booking in advance is a must.

Once you arrive at Butterworth Railway Station, if your final destination is Penang Island, you have to walk for a couple of minutes to the new Penang Sentral Terminal building where the ferry service to Georgetown departs from.
