KTM Train from Kuala Lumpur to Sungai Petani
There is a present, just one daily Intercity KTM Train between Kuala Lumpur and Sungai Petani in either direction.
The Senandung Langkawi (now renamed Peninsular Express) is a night train sleeper service, originating at the main station in Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral and travelling overnight up to Thailand's southern city of Hat Yai.
Please Note : All Intercity Express Trains running on the N - S Railway Line are cancelled from 19/5/2016.
You will now have to use the new high-speed Electric Train Services (ETS) on this route (see links below).
Since July 2015, there are now also the new high-speed Electric Train Services (ETS) on this route.
The ETS Gold Services and Platinum Services that operate between KL and Padang Besar stop at Sungai Petani.
