Train 167 from Bangkok to Hua Hin is one of the relatively cheap Rapid services, offering a range of seating in 2nd and 3rd class.

If you want to travel in the cheapest possible way, 3rd class is the way to go.
For short trips like this from Bangkok to Hua Hin they can be a good experience, but can get a little crowded at times.
2nd class seats are a bit more comfortable (they recline) and the carriages are often less crowded than in 3rd class.
The 2nd class Day & Night carriages offer much wider seating and will be made into beds during the evening if you want to lie down for a couple of hours. However, it is not really worth paying the extra fees for this short journey, so we recommend you use the 3rd or 2nd class seat carriages for this trip to Hua Hin beach.
If you want to travel in 3rd class, there is no need to book in advance and you just buy your tickets on the day of travel.
If you want to travel 2nd class, booking in advance is always a good idea (especially during the tourist high season - November to April).
To book your tickets online you can either:
1) Buy tickets from any SRT railway station (the cheapest option).
