Chumphon to Hua Hin Train Timetable and Ticket Price

Taking the Chumphon to Hua Hin train is easily the best option, as the railway station in both places is located in the centre of town.

If you took a bus from Chumphon to Hua Hin, you would have to go way out of town to the main Chumphon Bus Terminal (located 7 km from the centre of town, off the main highway), then take a Bangkok bound bus that actually goes in to Hua Hin (most use the bypass around the city).

If you want to travel from Koh Tao to Hua Hin, there is a more direct and easy service where you buy your tickets together from the ferry company, Lomprayah.

This service takes you from Koh Tao to the ferry port (located a long way outside Chumphon). From there you then transfer to a Lomprayah bus for the last leg to Hua Hin.

Fares for this journey start from as little as 49 Baht (for a 3rd class seat on an Ordinary fan cooled train).

For faster trains, fixed fees are added depending on the train type and if the carriage is air-conditioned or fan cooled.

Booking Tickets

As most people will be coming off the islands, booking seats during the high season can mean a lot of waiting around at Chumphon Station, as many of the faster long distance trains will be full.

If you want to travel in 3rd class on the Ordinary or Rapid services, buying tickets on the day of departure should not be a problem.

For all other trains, booking in advance is highly recommended.
