ETS Taiping to Johor Bahru JB Sentral KTM Train Schedule (Jadual)
The ETS Taiping to Johor Bahru train route is currently being upgraded between Gemas and JB Sentral. Until the upgrading work has been completed you will have to take two trains to get from Taiping to JB.
This is the route you will currently have to take to travel from Taiping to JB Sentral by train:

When you arrive at Gemas station, you will then have to transfer to one of the older diesel trains that run a shuttle service through Johor state and terminate at JB Sentral railway station

All long-distance KTM train services now terminate at JB Sentral station and if you want to continue your journey across the border to Singapore you will have to take one of the JB to Singapore shuttle train services that take just 5 minutes to get to Woodlands station in Singapore.

To travel from Taiping to JB by train you currently have to buy two separate train tickets:
- One for the ETS service from Taiping to Gemas.
- One for the diesel train service from Gemas to JB Sentral.
If you want to make this journey by train it is always recommended to book your tickets as far in advance as you can as trains can become fully booked during busy times of the year and around public and
religious
holidays.

Alternative Ways to Travel from Taiping to Johor Bahru
Another way of travelling from Taiping to Johor Bahru overland is to take a bus.
There are a few daily departures from either Simpang Taiping bus station or Kamunting bus station that can take you all the way to Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru.
The duration of the journey by bus from Taiping to JB is between 8 and 11 hours and is currently the cheapest way to travel to JB from Taiping.
