The high-speed Electric ETS Butterworth to Seremban train is a daily service from Penang's railway station on the mainland at Butterworth, travelling south to Seremban, via all the major towns along its route : Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur etc...
From Seremban you can continue your journey south by either Komuter Train to Gemas (stopping at Tampin for the nearest station to Melaka), then from Gemas you can connect to Shuttle services all the way down to JB Sentral Station in Johor Bahru.
Please Note : There will be a new KTM ETS timetable from the 1st February 2017.
This ETS Gold service operates daily.
Tickets for these ETS Gold services all the way from Penang to Seremban will cost you :
Adult Fare : 70 MYR
Child Fare : 39 MYR
ETS Trains in Malaysia have no 1st or 2nd class - all the coaches are the same type of seating.
Advance booking for this service is highly advisable as you will not get a seat at many times of the year during school holidays, public holidays and weekends etc..
Tickets can be purchased 60 days in advance, so you will have to either :
Visit a ticket counter at any mainline KTMB railway station.
Visit the ticket office located along the walkway up to the Penang to Butterworth ferry located at the Jetty in George Town.
Or save your time by simply booking your tickets online (for a very small added admin fee).
Another good alternative to travel from Penang to Seremban by train is to take a much more frequent ETS train from Butterworth to KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, then change onto a KTM Komuter train for the last part of the journey to Seremban.
