If you want to take a day trip to visit the temples, royal palaces and famous Tham Khao Luang Cave in Phetchaburi, you can take a local bus, minivan or you can travel on the more interesting Hua Hin to Phetchaburi train.
The train station in Phetchaburi is located in the centre of town, where you can visit many nearby temples, and walk up to the Phra Nakhon Khiri Palace (also known as Khao Wang).
If you want to use the cable car up to the palace - this is located on the other side of the hill, just off the main highway, so you will have to take a minivan to get there (then you can take a train back to Hua Hin).
Tham Khao Luang Cave entrance is located a few km to the north of town, so you will need to take a taxi / motorbike taxi to get there.
