If you want to travel from Tanjung Malim to Hat Yai by train, you will have to plan your journey to arrive at Padang Besar Railway Station in time to connect to one of the Shuttle Trains to Hatyai Junction Railway Station.
Alternatively, you can cross over the main road border crossing (next to the station), then continue to Hat Yai by minivan, bus or taxi.
If you plan to travel even further north to places like Surat Thani (connections to the ferry to Koh Samui / Koh Phangan), Chumphon (connections to the ferry to Ko Tao), Hua Hin or Bangkok, you can connect to the night train to Hualamphong Station in Bangkok.
