The high-speed Electric ETS Butterworth to Seremban train is a daily service from Penang's railway station on the mainland at Butterworth, travelling south to Seremban, via all the major towns along its route : Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur etc...
From Seremban you can continue your journey south to Gemas (stopping at Tampin for the nearest station to Melaka), then from Gemas you can connect to Shuttle services all the way down to JB Sentral Station in Johor Bahru and on to Singapore.

Adult Fare: 70 MYR
Child Fare: 39 MYR
ETS Trains in Malaysia have no 1st or 2nd class - all the coaches are the same type of seating.
Advance booking for this service is highly advisable as you will not get a seat at many times of the year during school holidays, public holidays and weekends etc.
Tickets can be purchased in advance, anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months in advance (depending on when KTM release the tickets for sale).
To buy your tickets you can either:
Visit a ticket counter at any mainline KTMB railway station.
Visit the ticket office located along the walkway up to the Penang to Butterworth ferry located at the Jetty in George Town.
Or save your time by simply booking your tickets online.
Another good alternative to travel from Penang to Seremban by train is to take a much more frequent ETS train from Butterworth to KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, then change onto a KTM Komuter train for the last part of the journey to Seremban.
