Tickets can be purchased in advance, anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months in advance (depending on when KTM release the tickets for sale).
To buy your tickets you can either:
Visit a ticket counter at any mainline KTMB railway station.
Visit the ticket office located along the walkway up to the Penang to Butterworth ferry located at the Jetty in George Town.
Or save your time by simply booking your tickets online.
Another good alternative to travel from Penang to Seremban by train is to take a much more frequent ETS train from Butterworth to KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, then change onto a KTM Komuter train for the last part of the journey to Seremban.
