ETS Gemas Butterworth Penang Timetable (Jadual)

Now the KL to Gemas double electric track is complete, a new ETS high-speed Electric Train Service from Gemas in the state of Negeri Sembilan to Butterworth in the state of Penang, has started operating from October 2015.

From May 2016, to travel from the south (ie JB Sentral Johor Bahru and Singapore) to Gemas you will have to take a Shuttle Train.

So, if you want to travel from Johor Bahru to Butterworth by train, you will now have to take two trains: one Shuttle Train to Gemas, then the ETS Train from Gemas to Butterworth.

Gemas Railway Station is also the junction station of the Weast Coast Line and the Jungle Line.

Arriving at Butterworth Station

If you are using an ETS service to get to one of Malaysia's main tourist destinations, George Town on Penang Island, you will not have too far to go once you arrive in Butterworth station (Penang Sentral).

The station is located just a few minutes walk away from the ferry terminal that takes you on the short trip over to George Town.

Boats take around 15 minutes to get to George Town and depart throughout the day and evening.
