The ETS Kampar to Alor Setar train is the quickest way to travel to the state capital of Kedah and one of the ways you can travel from Kampar to Langkawi Island by train as Alor Setar railway station is the closest train station to the ferry port of Kuala Kedah where you can take regular boats over to Kuah on the island (the other option is to take a train from Kampar to Arau from where you can connect to the ferry port at Kuala Perlis).

If you want to travel from Kampar to Pulau Langkawi by train, once you arrive at Alor Setar railway station, you need to take a taxi from the station to the ferry terminal at Kuala Kedah Jetty.
If you are on a budget, there is a cheaper alternative of taking a local bus from the centre of the city to the jetty.
