A good way to get from Rawang to Langkawi by train is to take the ETS Rawang to Arau service operated by Malaysia Railways KTMB (Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad).
The KTM Arau railway station is the closest train station to the port of Kuala Perlis where there are regular departures over to Kuah Jetty on Langkawi Island.
The other option for getting from Rawang to Langkawi by train is to take the train from Rawang to Alor Setar, then you can take a ferry from the jetty at Kuala Kedah.
