The ETS Seremban to Alor Setar train is the quickest way to travel overland from the capital of Negeri Sembilan to the capital of Kedah in Malaysia.
ETS trains in Malaysia travel at speeds of up to 140 km/h in service and are a much quicker and environmentally friendly way to travel compared to taking a bus or flight.

ETS Platinum services currently do not operate on this route however, you can take one from KL Sentral Station (see below).

Alor Setar Railway Station is located close to the city centre (you can walk there in around 10 minutes).
If you are travelling to Alor Setar to get to Langkawi Island, you can take a taxi from the train station to Kuala Kedah Jetty (13 km away) or you can walk into the city centre and take a cheap local bus.

If you travel on ETS trains in Malaysia, you have to have a reserved seat (no standing passengers are allowed).
We would also advise you to book your seats as far in advance as you can as trains can be full during busy periods.
