Taking the Kanchanaburi to Hua Hin train is possible with a change at either Nong Pla Duk Junction or Nakhon Pathom.
Travel by rail is much more interesting and cheaper than taking the tourist minivans that operate on this route.
You can also take some time to visit the largest Chedi in the world at Nakhon Pathom.
Travelling via Nakhon Pathom is a slightly longer route, but there are more trains from here to Hua Hin than there are from Nong Pla Duk.
You also have the chance to go and visit the Phra Pathom Chedi (located in the centre of town) or even stay the night, as there are many hotels and guest houses in this ancient Thai town.
If you want to travel in the other direction from Hua Hin to Kanchanaburi:

If you don't want to visit Nakhon Pathom, you could get off the train slightly earlier at Nong Pla Duk Junction.
As you can see from the timetables below, the only train you can take from Kanchanaburi to make a connection at Nong Pla Duk for Hua Hin is the early morning one.
Chances are this train will be delayed (most Ordinary services run late), so we recommend you buy a ticket to Nakhon Pathom and if the train is late, just stay on it to Nakhon Pathom.
