If you are planning on travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Batu Caves, going by train is by far the best option to take as the railway station is located right next to the entrance for the caves complex and you avoid all the traffic in the city if you travel by rail.

Train services to Batu Caves are operated by Malaysia Railways (Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad) on their KTM Komuter (commuter) Seremban Route (Laluan) which runs from Tampin and terminates at Batu Caves.

One of the best places to take the Komuter train from in KL city centre is the old KTM railway station of Kuala Lumpur.

To get to the KTM Kuala Lumpur old railway station from anywhere in the city is easy to do as the nearby Pasar Seni LRT / MRT station has trains from most areas of the city.

Pasar Seni station is linked to KTM Kuala Lumpur station by a pedestrian bridge (just follow the signs for Exit E from the main LRT concourse).

So for example:

If you want to travel from Bukit Bintang to Batu Caves you can take the MRT SBK Line train to Pasar Seni, then take the short walk to Kuala Lumpur station.

If you are coming from the Petronas Twin Towers to Batu Caves, you can take the LRT Kelana Jaya Line from KLCC to Pasar Seni.

If you are travelling from somewhere on the LRT Sri Petaling Line or LRT Ampang Line, you can change trains as Masjid Jamek, then take the Kelana Line one stop to Pasar Seni.
