You can purchase train tickets in Malaysia in advance from any mainline railway station on the KTMB railway network.
If you turn up on the day of travel hoping to buy a ticket there is a good chance you will not be able to get a seat.
If you are already in Kuala Lumpur, rather than travel all the way to KL Sentral Station, it is easier to buy your train tickets online.
You can book online through the KTMB website or:
You can also use online ticketing agents (which is a much easier booking process and can work out a little bit cheaper).
