The KTM Tumpat railway station (stesen keretapi Tumpat) is the terminal station on the Malaysia East Coast Line (also known as the Jungle Railway), located the state of Kelantan in the north-east corner of Peninsular Malaysia and is served by Intercity (Antarabandar) and Shuttle trains operated by Malaysia Railways Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB / KTM).

If you are travelling by one of the Shuttle trains (SH) to/from Tumpat, you buy your tickets direct from the originating station ticket counter.
If you want to travel on the long-distance Intercity train (Ekspres Rakyat Timuran - ERT), you should always book your tickets in advance to make sure you can get a seat or sleeper berth on the day you want to travel.
