If you want to travel on the KTM Rawang to KL Sentral train services, you have a choice of taking the faster, but more expensive ETS (Electric Train Services) or the much cheaper and more regular Komuter (commuter) services.

Change trains at KL Sentral for Komuter services on the Batu Caves - Tampin Line for places like Bandar Tasik Selatan (for TBS Bus Station) and Seremban.
If you do not want to take the Komuter services, the other option is to take one of the ETS Electric Trains that stop in Rawang on their way to Kuala Lumpur.
The most frequent (and easiest trains to get tickets on), are the services that operate on the Ipoh and KL Sentral route.
These trains are more frequent than the longer distance ETS services and are usually cheaper as they are either Gold or Silver services.
All KTM Komuter train tickets are only sold on the day of travel - so just turn up at the station, buy your tickets and hop on the next commuter.
