The KTM Rawang Railway Station in Selangor, is on the Malaysian Railways North - South Line (Sector Utara & Selatan) with high-speed Electric Train Services (ETS) and commuter trains (KTM Komuter) all stopping here.
Rawang is a major stop on the KL to Ipoh ETS route and nearly all services stop here.
Now with new ETS Trains operating as far south as Gemas and a far north as the Malaysia - Thailand border station at Padang Besar, you can travel longer distances by ETS Train from Rawang.
Unfortunately very few of the Gemas - Padang Besar and KL - Padang Besar ETS services stop here, so it may be best to catch a Komuter Train to Tanjung Malim first (see below) to connect with these trains.
Rawang Train Station is on the Tanjung Malim - Rawang - KL Sentral - Port Klang Komuter Line with trains departing from Rawang to KL Sentral, every 15- 30 minutes during busy periods on weekdays and every 20 - 30 minutes during weekends and public holidays.
The train from Rawang to KL Sentral in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, takes between 45 and 50 minutes.
For Komuter services, tickets are sold on the day at station counters and vending machines.
For ETS and Intercity / Shuttle services, you can buy tickets from any KTMB main station in Malaysia up to 60 days in advance.
You can telephone the Stesen Keretapi Rawang on the KTM Rawang contact number :
03 - 60916257
Or phone the KTM Berhad call centre on 1-300-88-5862
Please Note : All old diesel Intercity Express Train services to/from Rawang are now cancelled from 19th May 2016 and replaced by the faster ETS services.
Now if you want to travel south of Gemas to Johor or Singapore, you will now have to take a Komuter / ETS train to Gemas and change there for a connecting Shuttle Train to JB Sentral in Johor Bahru.
